Darwen SAC secures Lottery Grant

Darwen SAC have secured a lottery grant from Awards For All of over £9000 to fund their Morecambe Bay Surveys. The money has been used to update the clubs RIB engine and the GPS and sounder.

The new engine will reduce the costs for running the boat allowing for greater access to the RIB to all club members. The new engine will also reduce the boat's carbon footprint. The GPS and sounder are necessary to ensure safety at sea.

The club has great plans for the Morecambe Bay Surveys. We intend to survey the wrecks of the Hebe and Crusader as well as gather data to support the Irish Sea Conservation and Sea Search.

Welcome To Darwen Sub-Aqua Club's Web Site PDF Print E-mail

We are one of the longest established clubs with the BSAC, being founded in the summer of 1957. The club in the 21st century is following the same principles as those of our founders.  We have an exemplary training and safety record and are still very committed to the furtherance of diving as a recreational activity for everyone.

This site has a public and a members area. All members have access to the restricted area but if you are a friend of Darwen Sub Aqua Club then please drop us a line and ask for a user name.

There is something going on all year round as we dive winter and summer and our training programme is always ongoing. Events and dives are often arranged “last minute” as the weather can (and usually does!) play a defining part in all our plans, so our weekly meetings are where it all happens.

We meet at the Bridge Street Club, Darwen BB3 2AA on Tuesday evenings from 8pm. Why not come down and have a chat and maybe try a dive in the pool?
